Rider INFORMATION

Arrival, Please ensure you arrive by 1pm to ensure you have a fun day, there are toilet and changing facilities in the clubhouse, we can store your bags in the hut by the start finish line for free. There will be free drinking water available by the start line. There is a Sainsburys supermarket and retail park with food outlets 5 minute walk from the start line if you need to supplies or cash machine.

Sign in, from 1pm number pick up will be at the start/finish line (not the clubhouse).

Bike check will be carried out at sign in, please ensure your bike is race ready with no worn / loose or damaged parts. You wiil not be allowed to race if you bike fails the check.

Open Course, you will have a chance to ride the course between 1:20-1:50 pm, normal rules apply during this time.

Qualification and race format, 

There will be a change to both the race format and qualification for the men’s race.

Riders will be assigned to either A or B categories based on previous race results and race experience. Check the 2018 Start list page for details.

A’ riders will compete in a 5 lap qualification race, your finishing position in the qualification will determine your starting grid position for the final main race. E.G if you come first in your heat race then you will get pole position in the final!  All A category riders will automatically progress to the final unless otherwise stated by the race director, e.g. if you get dropped you will be placed in the B race.

B’ riders will compete in a 10 lap qualification race, the top 25 finishers will go on to race in the final main race. The top 3 riders will awarded a small prize and will get to celebrate on the podium after the main races.

The bottom finishing B riders will get to compete in a new feature race called the 5 lap dash, there are no prizes awarded just pride and a cold beer at the finishing line!
